Clacton Neighbourhood Vision
Below is the draft vision of the Clacton Town Board, which will be going out to community consultation soon. It is summarised as:
Clacton is evolving into a lively, family-friendly coastal destination where residents feel a strong sense of identity and pride. Honouring its rich heritage while embracing sustainable development, we are creating a place that celebrates culture, fosters opportunity, and drives economic growth. Through innovation, connectivity, and inclusivity, Clacton will inspire future generations, support businesses, and offer a welcoming experience for all who live, work, and visit.

We want Clacton to become a vibrant and thriving seaside town. We want our residents to feel a strong sense of identity. We envision a community where people are proud to live.

We are committed to honouring Clacton’s heritage whilst moving into the future with sustainable developments.
We will celebrate Clacton’s cultural heritage of performance and entertainment and infuse the town with joy and a spirit of celebration.
We will honour Clacton’s heritage and historical landmarks. But we will move the town forward with sustainable developments.

Our vision is to transform Clacton into the premier family-friendly seaside destination. Families will see Clacton as a place to create roots and build a network. Visitors will want to stay longer. They will immerse themselves in the local experience, in great accommodation, attractions, and amenities that cater to diverse needs and interests.
We aspire to create an environment where every resident can fulfil their potential and achieve their dreams. We will facilitate greater access to inclusive opportunities. Opportunities in education, employment, and skills development; in the growing sectors in Clacton of clean energy, the Freeport, and health. We will inspire future generations to succeed.
Clacton will be a beacon of economic growth and innovation. We will develop the entrepreneurs and skilled workforce of tomorrow. By nurturing our town’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit, we will support businesses to flourish, embrace innovation, and reduce turnover.
We want to connect
We envision a Clacton where every individual—resident, business, or visitor—feels connected. They should feel valued, and part of something greater. We will encourage intergenerational relationships, strengthen community cohesion, address issues of isolation and build social trust.
