About the project

As part of Tendring District Council’s (TDC) Community Regeneration Partnership with the Government, a sum of £3million will be used on the Clacton Leisure Centre site, to progress proposals as part of a wider scheme to create a new Active Wellbeing Centre, providing sustainable sports facilities and integrated health and wellbeing services.  The proposed project will include improving the condition of the existing facilities at the swimming pool, as well as the development of an inclusive cycling facility and free to use children’s play area at Clacton Leisure Centre to support improving health and wellbeing for key priority groups.

A feasibility study for new Active Wellbeing Centre has been commissioned and is expected to feed back in Autumn 2025.
