Local Cycling & Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIP)
Find out about the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure programme in Tendring, aimed to support walking and cycling as the natural choice for shorter journeys.

About the project
Essex County Council, in partnership with Tendring District Council are creating a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan for Clacton and Jaywick. This is a long-term plan to prioritise walking and cycling infrastructure over the next 10-years (subject to funding). Part of this work would be to adapt the streets to make them more accessible for sustainable travel and improving road safety. To date community engagement has been undertaken (Aug to Oct 24) to gain insight on the proposed walking and cycling routes in Jaywick Sands and Clacton. The ambition is to ensure that the proposed networks accurately reflect local needs and priorities of residents to support sustainable travel in the future.
