Skills Fund

Prosperous

A fund that helps drive economic growth, supports apprenticeships, and the delivery of a modern learning hub

The Skills Fund will build on major investments already underway, including the new library and learning centre within the Civic Quarter and current apprenticeship schemes, creating a joined-up approach to skills development. This funding will enable the fit-out of a modern learning hub that can deliver industry-relevant courses, and expand apprenticeship opportunities in key growth sectors. By aligning with existing infrastructure and programmes (including health programmes), the fund will maximise impact, supporting residents to get into work, equipping them with the qualifications and experience needed for sustainable careers, supporting local businesses, and driving economic growth. This approach will need to be aligned with other initiatives, such as the Local Skills Improvement Plan, and will help bridge skills gaps, and strengthen Clacton’s position as future ready.
