Create an attractive and active streetscape through shopfront upgrades

A comprehensive scheme to restore and enhance the upper floors and frontages of key heritage buildings and shop parades within the Town Centre, with a focus on the conservation area. This programme will complement planned shopfront improvements, targeting heritage-at-risk assets to create visual cohesion and architectural quality, and improve the overall perception of the Town Centre. The initiative offers potential integration with proposed housing improvement programmes (‘Living Over the Shops ‘LOTS’ scheme), delivering both restoration and improved residential accommodation above commercial premises
